When he spoke again the confidence was in his voice.
At that moment Vance did an amazing thing.
Snakelike, the gray-dark mass undulated below.
He tried again, his anger forgotten.
Both Louis Dyer and Hughes must be around until the last minute.
Leigh’s gaze reached beyond the opening to the girl.
